Ranked by return after a 3 percentage-point forecast reduction, then base return. This sensitivity check is not a confidence interval. Green means projected return remains above 1% after that test; yellow means the comparison is too thin to promote. Neither means safe.

A screened card also needs a model inside the 24-hour freshness limit. A newly checked price cannot extend an older forecast; older comparisons stay watch-only until ESPN publishes or Chimp Picks retrieves a fresh model.

A positive comparison stays off the best-screened list when the model differs from this book by more than 10 percentage points or the price needs less than a 15% win rate to break even. Those transparent review thresholds catch extreme disagreements and longshots where small probability errors can create huge-looking returns; they do not declare the bet good or bad.

The board checks ESPN every 15 seconds after each completed request while visible. Scores and game status can update during play. These odds are public pregame reference quotes, not verified live sportsbook prices; they are hidden when a game starts or a successful source check is too old. Direct checks expire after 90 seconds; scheduled references expire after six minutes. Scheduled collection runs every five minutes.

Line-movement labels use direct checks only. Changes compare consecutive checks from the exact event, teams, market, sportsbook name and numeric provider ID on this device. Missing or changed provider identity fails closed. A blue “Changed” label records movement, not better value. Opening lines and market-wide history are not supplied.

What “Fool’s gold” and “Trap risk” mean
